Manages several key areas of responsibility for the Retail Marketing dept. Assists the Marketing Director in various areas relating to the development and execution of business-building plans.
Scope of Responsibilities
• Packaging – leads all aspects of retail and private label packaging initiatives
o Coordinates with all parties, including design (with graphic artist), regulatory, new products manager, printers, plants and other parties
o Handles new and updated graphics
o Proofing/approvals/press checks
o Promotional packaging (design/timing/coordination)
o Photo shoots
o Attends NPR meetings (new product/product change meetings) to track/report on packaging matters
• Budgets – manages information and reconciliations, approvals/coding/processing of invoices, check requests, P.O.s, local
payments, etc.
• Coupon programs
o Serves as liaison between company and coupon fulfillment company. Manages information and tracking via their system.
o Responsible for ordering, coding, proofing, redemption tracking/analysis/reporting, budget tracking and reporting, reconciliations, issues resolution, etc.
o Recommends new approaches to maximize ROI (electronic coupons, etc.).
• Research – leads research initiatives with internal/external parties (positioning, new products, promotional/recipe ideas, etc.)
• Positioning – serves as member of repositioning team (FY11-12).
• Sales/Broker Support – serves as resource for sales and broker teams
o Provides a wide array of support including: information requests, design/printing/distribution.
o Ongoing sales communications and quarterly presentations to Retail sales team
• Advertising/Consumer Promotions
o Assists in overall planning/execution of various marketing agency initiatives (advertising, promotions, events, etc.).
o Recommends and manages partnerships/sweepstakes promotional overlay opportunities
o Manages direct mail program.
o Handles package images program (contract, updates, etc.)
• PR – leads public relations programs (consumer and trade-focused).
• Events – plans and manages special company events and key account events – including limited key account Grand Opening assistance.
• Analysis
o Gathers and analyzes data and develops recommendations (new product opportunities, sku rationalization, etc.)
o Handles queries and updates on internal systems:

§ Other systems, as needed

o Develops/leads new recipe development/integration program
o Leads cross-functional teams (event planning, packaging changes, etc.), as needed
o Helps mentor Asst. Marketing Manager

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing; MBA degree a plus
- Four years’(+) broad experience in a CPG (consumer packaged goods) marketing role
- Background in packaging, consumer promotions, research, PR, budgets, project management – including leading of cross-functional groups, and experience working closely with sales teams
- Food manufacturer experience strongly preferred
