Inside Sales Rep Steel 2026

The Inside Sales Representative helps generate revenue by maintaining, growing and serving new and existing inside sales accounts within an assigned territory. This position requires high-quality customer service skills, including making rapid responses to customer inquiries and ensuring on-time product deliveries according to customer specifications. The Inside Sales Representative is also expected to sell branded products, up-sell additional services whenever possible.

Responsibilities include:
Build and maintain strong sales relationships with customers, and maximize sales penetration by selling the fullest possible product range to each account. Support Territory Managers with new business development, prospecting for new customers, opening new sales accounts, and other duties as needed. Order Management: ensure an efficient and profitable order process, and help customers as needed along the way. Customer Freight: set up freight for on-time deliveries in line with customer specifications, and coordinate outside processing as needed. Trouble-shoot potential problems with orders or inquiries, help solve problems and resolve claims.
Conduct sales forecasting to analyze high-potential accounts and help the Territory and sales team achieve its quarterly and annual sales goals. Maintain open, consistent communication with customers and vendors via verbal and electronic methods.
Solicit feedback from customers on products, services, pricing and overall performance. Conduct sourcing of non-stock materials (on a limited basis).

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or commensurate sales experience in the steel industry or related manufacturing environment.
Abrasion Resistant Steel experience preferred, but not necessary.
Strong mathematical abilities and phone skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Requirements:
1.  Bachelor’s degree.
2.  1 to 3 years of sales experience in steel or construction industry.
