Description
This position will be responsible for various areas of human resources with a focus on Recruiting and Employee Relations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Perform all employment activities, including writing and placing job ads, screening resumes, interviewing, assisting managers with hiring decisions, conducting pre-employment background checks, making employment offers, coordinating security clearance process
* Liaise with Business Development and Proposal Writing to perform full life-cycle recruiting for positions on proposals to the government
* Assist Business Development with upcoming opportunities and networking with future potential employees on contracts the company is considering bidding on
* Develop strong rapport with supervisors, customers and managers to understand their needs and visit employee sites
* Assist with the on boarding process to include new hire paperwork and new hire orientations
* Maintain consistent communication with field managers and applicants
* Assist in developing and communicating Company policies and procedures
* Assist in communicating Company benefit programs
* Advise HR & Recruiting Manager of employee relation issues (e.g., disciplinary issues, complaints, policy questions, terminations, etc.) and work with to develop solutions and coaching methods for Program Managers
* Ensure compliance with legal and statutory obligations of Federal Government contracting, including compliance with all other federal and state requirements
* Other duties as assigned – assist where needed with the overall functioning of the HR department
Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree or Human Resources Certification (SPHR or PHR) preferred. Additional years of experience may be substituted for Degree.
* Minimum of 3 – 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience
* Computer proficient using MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel
* Strong customer service and relationship building skills
