This position acts as director for Rehab Services.  Rehab Services include physical, occupational, speech, aqua, massage therapies, work well, Personal Training, and other programs.  This position may be held by either a Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapist. Position is a working management position as the director oversees the operation of the department and treats patients as well. Evaluates and establishes plan of care and treats patients referred by a health care provider for physical rehabilitation services to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.  Orients new caregivers to the department.  Assess daily and future needs of the department and addresses them.  Interviews applicants for open positions within the department in accordance with established
hiring policy.  Caregiver must agree to adhere to all provisions and requirements of the Compliance Plan and Ethics Policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Evaluates and treats patients under a physician’s orders.  Treats patient and supervises treatment plans needed to progress patient. Follow-up with referral source regarding patient’s treatment and progress.  Assists with department Quality reports and/or records. Performs necessary documentation including: evaluations, progress notes, discharge notes, and billing in a timely manner according to department policy.  Assists with orientation of new staff, volunteers, or students.  Utilizes and maintains department equipment and requests department supplies as needed.  Commitment to reducing costs and improving productivity within the department. Responsible for maintaining department staff payroll time in the timekeeping system.  Assists with drafting operating budgets for the department. Markets services to providers and other departments.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises department staff in accordance with state regulations.
Responsible loss control and safety issues within the department.
Responsible for training department supervisors on safety and safety issues within the department, conducting and reporting safety meetings for the department, and orienting new department caregivers concerning safety.
Looks for opportunities to grow and develop service lines of business.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or caregivers.  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Must possess and maintain current Therapy license in the state of Iowa.  Attend required and approved continuing education.

Education: Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree in Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy or Bachelor of Science degree and university program certificate.

Training and Experience: Three (3) years management experience.

Requirements:
1.  Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree in Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy.
2.  Licensed PT, OT, or SP.
3.  3 + years of management experience in a rehab setting.
4.  Located in the region or with a strong reason for the move.
