Responsible for 102 fte’s in 1 West and 23 fte’s in CPC

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing with an educational plan to obtain a Master’s relevant to the healthcare
environment. Master’s preferred. At least three years of true management experience in Emergency Department required. Management experience in a large university/teaching hospital or Level One Trauma Center is strongly preferred. Requires licensure as a registered nurse by the SC Board of Nursing and current BLS certification from American Heart Association or Professional Rescuers Card.
Job Summary: The level One Trauma Center see’s over 40,000 cases and about 1100 Trauma Activations annually. The Nurse Manager of our Level One Trauma Center & Chest Pain Center reports to the Director of Surgical Acute Critical Care (SACC) & Medical Acute Critical Care (MACC) Service Line. The Nurse Manager ensures the provision of his/her departments in collaboration with other health professionals in an environment that is respectful of others, accountable for outcomes and adaptive to change. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the planning and comprehensive operations of department/unit on a 24-hour basis.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing with an educational plan to obtain a Master’s (Master’s preferred).
2. 3+ years of true Emergency Department management (Management experience in a large university/teaching hospital or Level One Trauma Center is strongly preferred).
3. RN and current BLS certification from American Heart Association or Professional Rescuers Card.
