Client needs someone with Plant Manager or Project Management experience in Steel Fabrication.

The Plant Manager is responsible for supervising all manufacturing and administrative activities at the plant level, ensuring compliance with applicable Health & Safety and Quality control programs, managing budgets, training and developing employees, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Production Management:
Direct, coordinate and supervise shop personnel in scheduling and assigning work.
Holds prefabrication and production meetings to review projects and delivery schedules.
Monitor the quality of work and maintain compliance with quality assurance standards and processes.
Develop fabrication processes to ensure compliance with job specifications and codes.
Procure consumables for shop use.
Provide reports to upper management as requested.

Process Improvement:
Supervise plant maintenance and develop maintenance programs and schedules.
Implement and maintain a 5S program for optimal workplace organization.
Develop plans for efficient use of materials, space, machines, and employees.
Review production costs and product quality, and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of plant.

Human Resources Management:
Hire and train qualified shop personnel.
Adhere to the guidelines and standards established by Corporate HR for discipline, terminations and other personnel issues.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Ideally 10-15 years of progressive manufacturing experience, including two years of plant management experience, or four years of production manager experience at a large plant.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant applications

Requirements:
