RELIABILITY ENGINEER
Manufacturer is currently seeking qualified applicants for the open position of Reliability Engineer. The Reliability Engineer will help manage all predictive maintenance activities under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Manager. The Reliability Engineer will provide technical expertise to monitor equipment conditions and help solve equipment problems.
Responsibilities:
. Work within an established predictive maintenance program to provide oversight and direction of various condition monitoring activities, including vibration, oil analysis, thermography, gear inspections, and ultrasound.
. Coordinate efforts of outside contractors to perform routine data collection and inspections as well as specialized tests.
. Analyze, consolidate, and distribute inspection results and reports as appropriate for use by maintenance personnel and management.
. Develop positive working relationship with maintenance and operations to diagnose machine conditions, analyze failures, and plan appropriate corrective actions. Consult with outside specialist when necessary.
. Monitor and maintain online vibration monitoring system, including database management, evaluation and adjustment of alarms, repair and replacement of vibration hardware and instrumentation, and administration of updates for software and diagnostic tools.
. Obtain products and materials from suppliers, and provide planning and direction to contractors during installation projects.
. Complete safety evaluations and help maintain a safe, positive workplace.
Desired Skills:
. Minimum 3 years work experience with Condition Monitoring or Predictive Maintenance programs and technologies in an industrial environment.
. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; including the ability to present information, facilitate meetings, and provide direction to others.
. Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, CMMS system, and vibration analysis software.
. Understanding of basic principles of project management.
. Familiarity and knowledge of centrifugal pumps, compressors, motors, fans, gearboxes, cranes, and other rotating/moving machinery. Experience with slow speed machines a plus.
. Maintain accurate records and files.
. Vibration Level 2 or greater certification. Thermography, Oil Analysis, and Ultrasound certifications are a plus, but not required.
. Position involves walking, squatting, bending, twisting, lifting, climbing ladders and stairs, and kneeling in temperatures ranging from very hot to very hot in areas that may be noisy and dirty.
Requirements:
1. 3 + years experience with Condition Monitoring or Predictive Maintenance programs and technologies in an industrial environment.
2. Strong computer skills including CMMS system, and vibration analysis software.
3. Familiarity and knowledge of centrifugal pumps, compressors, motors, fans, gearboxes, cranes, and other rotating/moving machinery.
4. Vibration Level 2 or greater certification.
5. Thermography, Oil Analysis, and Ultrasound certifications are a plus, but not required.
